Random Thoughts of a Lioness

The reward of conformity was that everyone liked you, except yourself.

A Mother's Woe

I am disturbed.

I am deeply disturbed with children who can't find it in their hearts to care for their aging parents. To see them as a burden, both financially and physically.

I find it disturbing that some even go through the motion of using religion as a basis of relinquishing the responsibilities (and the humanity) of making the last few years of a parent comfortable.

And it disturbs me even more that it happens in my family *sigh*

So can anyone tell me, is it acceptable for a daughter (albeit not by 'blood') to pass her mom around (who according to the doctors, just living out her remaining months) to cousins and nursing homes because:

1) The cousins are 'darah daging' hence more responsible to take care of her.

2) She doesn't have the finances to take care of her anymore (although she just got herself a new house and a brand new car for her child).

3) The only way she can take her back is if there's a maid. And until now, there is no serious efforts to get a maid (cos using the registered agents is too expensive).

4) And get this - since the mom had a few times mentioned that some of the harta should also go to the 'blood relations', she doesn't think it is WORTH IT to dedicate her full time looking after her.

I don't know. Maybe I am feeling overemotional here. But as a daughter (and a mom), I pray to Allah that this will never happen to me. Nau'zubillah.

And to Mama, I love you.

Komen Pak Malim kucing ray yg alim.

Susah nak cakap, kata Pak Malim sambil makan ikan siakap. Kadang begitulah, masa sihat, kaya dan muda, orang suka kita, kata Pak Malim sambil naik kereta. Tapi bila dengar ada 'beban' yg perlu dipikul, semua lari, kata Pak Malim sambil naik lori.

Nau'zubillah. All I can say is... sesal dahulu pendapatan, sesal kemudian tiada gunanya. Hopefully dia tak sesal kemudian
